Treo Eile in association with ARKequine will host a live webinar on the Racehorse to Riding Horse: The Steps To Make A Seamless Transition at 8.00pm on Thursday 16th June 2022.
The live webinar will discuss the typical transitional changes to expect as your race horse adapts to a new career as a sport horse. The event will be hosted by Anne O’Connor, Executive Officer at Treo Eile, and will be joined by guest speakers Kirsty McCann, Nutritional Manager at ARKequine, and veterinary surgeon Dr. John Henderson BVM&S MRCVS.
Kirsty McCann has extensive equine experience gained from when she held an amateur license and as a lead equine veterinary nurse at an equine referral hospital, she now works as a nutritional manager at ARKequine. Kirsty is joined by Dr. John Henderson who has over 25 years of veterinary experience and has a particular interest in equine preventative medicine and nutrition.
Together they will lead the format of the webinar which will be structured by questions received by Treo Eile (anne.oconnor@treoeile.com) in advance of the webinar and will cover a wide variety of subjects from nutrition, training, and development and behaviour. This will be followed by a Question and Answer session and a prize draw raffle to win €200 of ARKequine vouchers.

Anne O’Connor, Executive Officer Treo Eile
Anne is the recipient of the 2021 Godolphin Stud & Stable Staff Administration Award which highlighted her years with Goffs, I.T.B. A, Irish Farrier School and prior to Treo Eile, as a Racing Secretary. She has competed successfully on ex-racehorses and is committed to teaching through the Irish Pony Club. Anne joined Treo Eile as their Executive Officer in February of this year.
Kirsty McCann, Equine Nutritional Manager, ARKequine UK & IRE
Kirsty has many years of experience working in the equine industry, having held an amateur license and worked for leading NT hunt trainer, the late, great Michael O’Brian, where she schooled many NH horses in flatwork. Following this, Kirsty worked as a lead equine nurse at an equine referral hospital at the Curragh, and more recently as a nutritional manager at an equine supplement business. She leads the team of ARKequine experts to advise, educate and support the equine community in ROI and the UK.
Dr. John Henderson, BVM&S MRCVS, Equine Vet Advisor
John has been a practicing vet for over 25 years, working in all parts of Ireland and the UK. He started out as a purely equine vet but over the years has worked extensively with all domestic species, both large and small. An interest in preventative medicine and nutrition led to his current role with ARKequine, helping to advise on the veterinary best practice in equine nutrition.
